Kelowna (B.C.) – BDO Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Sinéad Scanlon as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leader. In this role, Sinéad will continue to advance the firm’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategy, creating a space in which people feel empowered to come to work as their authentic selves.
“Over the past 16 years with our firm, Sinéad has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to fostering an environment where everyone belongs,” said Kerri Plexman, Managing Partner, Talent & Culture for BDO Canada. “We are eager to leverage her expertise to continue our DEI journey, ensuring BDO continuously evolves to meet the needs of our people.”
Sinéad succeeds Giselle Bodkin, who made tremendous strides for the firm. She led the firm’s National DEI Advisory Council, which is made up of five pillars and is tasked with applying a DEI lens across all dimensions of the organization. Together with the pillar leads and supporting council members, Giselle helped to grow an inclusive culture where BDO Canada’s people feel accepted and engaged.
In her new position, Sinéad will also assume the role as lead of the firm's National DEI Advisory Council, where she previously served on the Women's Pillar prior to her appointment as DEI Leader.
