Brent Warga is a partner in BDO's Business Restructuring & Turnaround Services practice in Winnipeg. He has over 16 years of experience assisting challenged companies through formal and informal restructuring and performance enhancement initiatives.
Before joining BDO, Brent was a Partner and Senior Vice-President at an international accounting firm, leading the corporate restructuring practice for his region. In this role, Brent provided services to private and public companies, financial institutions, alternative lenders, and shareholders of businesses involved in various industry sectors, including aerospace, energy and resources, manufacturing, real estate, hospitality, printing, agriculture, construction, transportation, and retail.
Brent has extensive experience acting as a court officer in administering receiverships, bankruptcies, and proposals under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, as well as plans of arrangement under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act. He has also monitored the financial, strategic, and operational results of various companies on behalf of secured creditors and other interested stakeholders and has acted as a financial advisor to distressed businesses outside of formal insolvency proceedings.
Brent is an active volunteer within his community and frequently presents to industry organizations on current insolvency topics.
